While rarely my key focus, newspaper, online and magazine design has at times been part of my job duties.
I designed the Oskaloosa Herald's 2024 Tulip Time section, a small magazine published to preview the community's annual celebration. The content is edited by another team member, I was responsible for design and photography selection (and took many of the photos included).
I designed the Ottumwa Courier's 2023 Rathbun Lake guide, a yearly publication showcasing content about the Rathbun Lake area in southern Iowa. The content was edited by another team member, I was responsible for design and some photography selection.
I designed the Ottumwa Courier and The Oskaloosa Herald's 2023 The Source guide, a yearly publication showcasing information from counties in the coverage area of the two newspapers. The content was edited by another team member, I was responsible for the design and some photography selection.
I completed a facelift of the Ottumwa Courier's Contact Us page design. Due to policies, I had to use existing CSS design styles and Bootstrap CSS to create a simple and organized design layout. The design is responsive to multiple devices. I coded the page using HTML and knowledge of the site's existing Bootstrap CSS resources.
